Richland Chambers Lake Richland Chambers Fishing Report May 2010
The Largemouth Bass fishing on Richland Chambers has been good this May!! I have been out twice and caught 2 fish over 7 lbs. and several 2-3 lb. fish. I took my kids out on Sunday May 16th and the sandies were hitting the top all afternoon. The water has been stained due to all the rain we've had. The lake is full so come on out!!

Welcome to my monthly Richland Chambers Fishing Report. I fished the entire day on Thursday at Richland Chambers and the conditions were perfect for fishing. The wind was laid down, sun was high, and the water temp. was at 68 degrees. The water clarity was still a little murky in some places due to the 5 day rain we received last week. I fished from 6 am to 2 pm for Largemouth Bass. We didn't have much luck only catching 1 on a spinnerbait in timber 5 ft of water. I spoke with a few other fisherman that have been catching them on the beds the last couple of days but for some reason on Thursday it just shut down. Not many people caught good numbers on Thursday. I know they are there so keep trying.
From 2-7 we moved our focus to the Sandbass and Hybrids. We tried several hot spots around the lake, but could not find the schooling fish until 6 pm. We found them off of The Shores point in the middle of the lake schooling at 18 ft. We caught tons of magnum sandbass and made a perfect ending to a beautiful day of fishing at Richland Chambers Lake!!!

Over the weekend Oak Cove Marina hosted a Bass Tournament at Richland Chambers Lake . The winning 5 fish stringer weighed in at 36 Lbs. That is great news for Largemouth Bass fisherman on Richland Chambers. I was hosting a boat tour of properties on the lake and saw many Bass hitting the top of the water back the coves. I think the Fall bite should be in full swing now!!! Let me know if any of you have some luck and send me your pictures!!

This past weekend felt very good out at Richland Chambers Lake. A cold front blew in and it was overcast the entire day with a cool temp. at 70-80 degrees. We had a light wind that grew stonger as the day went on, but the lake remained calm enough to fish. At 5:30 am we headed out from Oak Cove Marina to the 309 Flats looking for sand bass and hybrids. We found a few fish, but not the normal bite we usually see. We fished for a few hours and then headed to Big Buck creek and went after the Largemouth bite. The fish had moved into the shallows staying in the grass. We fished the grass with 10" Red Shad and Blue Fleck worms. Caught some nice Bass one weighing in at 8 Lbs. I can't wait for the Fall to arrive with the cooler weather and the fish being more aggressive!

 | Its been a great deer season this year in Texas with many of my fellow friends harvesting some excellent trophies. Now its time for that pre-spawn bass fishing action to kick in to gear at Richland Chambers Lake. Also, we should start seeing some good action with the white bass and hybrids. Please call me or email me at 903-874-2788 or stuart@smithgroupsolutions.com if you have pictures or a good report on fishing and hunting around the Richland Chambers area. Happy New Year and look forward to hearing from you!!!
